Dana White had a big announcement last night at the TUF 17 Finale. Before the co-main event the UFC President announced that Ultimate Fighter 18 will air Sept. 4th on Fox Sports 1 at 10 PM ET. The show will move from FX where it has been for the past two season to the new sports network Fox is rolling out later this summer.
The show will feature Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano as coaches. Zingano earned the right to coach on the show with a victory over Miesha Tate last night in Las Vegas. Both Rousey and Zingano are undefeated and will coach both men and women bantamweights during filming. After the season airs the two women will fight for Rousey’s title in the fall.
Fox Sports 1 channel will begin broadcasting on August 17 and will air a live UFC event from Boston. Dana White is from Beantown and you know he will put on a good card for his homecoming.

Ultimate Fighter season 17 contestant Urijah Hall is thought to be the favorite to win the UFC contract this year. On the last episode Chael Sonnen’s team got to train with UFC women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and according to Hall he didn’t do very well.
“I said to myself, ‘I can get out of this. Then she caught me and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this [expletive] is real. You can’t grab her and if you do grab her, you’re [expletive] Thank God they didn’t show that, because she totally kicked my ass.”
Rousey is a legit badass. She was an Olympian in judo and has walked through everyone she has faced in Strikeforce and now the UFC. Had the practice stayed on the feet Hall might have been able to pick her apart with his heavy hands but with that strong judo background eventually she will get you to the ground and submit you. It’s also worth noting that Hall probably outweighed the ladies champ by 35 pounds.
Next season Rousey will be a coach on TUF which will feature men and women at 135 pounds for the first time in the show’s history.
‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey never ceases to amaze me. When she was in a lot of trouble early in the fight the UFC women’s champ was worried about her bra and not her opponent who had her back and had a pretty tight neck crank at that moment. Rousey ended up with another armbar win in the first round. She has never had a fight go out of the first round and is a perfect 6-0.
