Dana White has stated what a lot of people already known in a recent MMAWeekly interview. Nate Diaz will be the #1 contender with a win over Jim Miller at UFC on Fox 3 Saturday night. Diaz has been red hot lately winning his last two over stellar competition, Donald Cerrone, and Takanori Gomi late last year. Before his winning streak Diaz had gone 0-2 at 170 and needed to drop down to lightweight to be in his natural weight class.

According to Dana White;

If Diaz wins, he gets a title shot; if Miller wins, he is probably still a fight or two away.

Jim Miller was next in line to get a shot at the belt but lost a decision to Benson Henderson that bumped back down the ladder. If he can beat Diaz and get another win or two he will back to the #1 contender spot.
